Influence of mechanical properties and alloying elements of low carbon steels on fine blanking and heat treatment processes response

The effect of the negative clearances between punch and die a flange with different fine blanking half-cutting depths was investigated for two low carbon steels various elongation rates, C18E (0.18%C) 20MnB5 (0.2%C, upper mechanical properties than steel), industrially used forming car seat parts. A specific tool adaptable on tensile machine built to determine force needed blank simple geometry, in objective further transpose obtained results complex geometry industrial Heat treatment carried out optimize microstructure, hardness dimensional modifications combination material/clearance/half-cutting height tested. Increasing rate raw material allows reach better formability reduces create given but cracks were detected extreme deformation rate.
